Cara stands on a little stage in San Aurelio’s piazza and calls the moves in time with the music. Each cue slides along the lane to the beat line: do it as it gets there, on the tick. Left, right, jump and clap to start; duck joins in round two and spin in round three, and every round is faster. But if Marchetti pops up from behind the hedge with “Marchetti says…”, don’t! Three lives; a slip, a wrong move or one of Marchetti’s costs one.

Streaks multiply the points, and every ten in a row banks jade. Hit a cue with a badge on the beat to win it: ⏳ a slower beat, 💚 an extra life, 🌟 double points, ❄️ a freeze (slips cost nothing for a while).
