Each dig is a square of sand pegged out at one of Cara’s places, with a mosaic buried under it. Swap two finds side by side to make a line of three or more alike: 🪙 coins, 🏺 pots, 💎 gems, 📜 scrolls, 🪲 scarabs and 🐚 shells. The line is lifted out and the sand under it is brushed away (some is two layers deep). Uncover the whole mosaic before the moves run out; moves to spare are worth more points, and points are stars.

Make a line of four for a brush that sweeps its whole row (or column), an L or T for a trowel that digs out everything round it, and five for a gold sun: swap it with any find to lift out every one of that kind. Swap two specials together for something bigger. Stuck? The board shakes itself. The tools cost jade: ⛏️ a pick lifts out any one find, 🔄 a free swap swaps any two, 🌀 a shake shuffles them all.
